Organizations bring their biggest events to Banff, and brands come for a backdrop nobody has to explain. Both run into the same thing. It’s a national park, so hiring a Banff videographer means planning around Parks Canada before anything else gets decided. We’re a Calgary crew ninety minutes away, and we build the schedule around that rulebook first.
The permit reality, up front
Commercial filming on park land generally requires a Parks Canada film permit arranged ahead of time. Coverage of a private event inside a venue is a different and simpler case. That distinction shapes the whole plan, so we confirm the current requirements with Parks Canada at the start of every project. A conference filmed inside a hotel is the simple case. A brand film on Vermilion Lakes at sunrise needs paperwork and lead time.
We sort the project into the right lane in the first conversation, handle the permit process when one applies, and build shot lists that get the park into the film through the legal windows.
Events and brand work
Conference and event coverage is the most straightforward Banff work to book: multi-day programs, executive retreats, and galas at the hotels and event spaces in and around town. We coordinate with venue AV for clean audio feeds and film with the discretion a private event expects. Because we’re ninety minutes away, a single-day booking carries no flights, per diems, or hotel nights.
For tourism and hospitality brands, we produce films and photography scheduled to the light and planned with the weather contingencies mountain shoots demand. Canmore, just outside the park boundary, often stands in when a concept needs mountain scale without federal process.
